Welcome to another new blog feature! In my "Smart Pick" posts, I'll be sharing some of my favorite pieces online* right now that are truly a good investment. Whether its a perfect white shirt or a staple that is not so traditional, I really hope you enjoy my picks.
First up is the Dooney & Bourke "Happy Bag". While most of us bloggers are looking for a purse that can tote around our dSLRs, why not give your tired shoulders a break? Dooney & Bourke is actually my favorite semi-luxurious handbag company to date. Now, I'll be the first to tell you that the leather industry itself is not environmentally friendly in the slightest. However, the fact that these bags are so sustainable crafted and the commitment the company has to its American heritage means that it is a brand I can support. If the leather is still being made, at least it is being used well.
While I may have convinced you that this is in fact the perfect little purse, I might not have convinced you to spend approximately $200 on one of these pieces of delectable arm candy. I know most of us are extremely bargain savvy shoppers which is why my smart picks will only feature items that would make a great investment piece and a great use of your hard earned cash. That being said, I can personally attest to the quality of Dooney handbags, and I think that the shape and colors of this little number will be stylish for years to come. It's a great alternative to the all-too-trendy Cambridge satchels that cost even more.
If I manage to snag one of the beauties, here is how I'd love to style it:
(Arrow brushes found at Creature Comforts)
1. Topshop map tee, 2. Dorothy Perkins skirt, 3. DV by Dolce Vita shoes, 4. Dooney & Bourke Happy bag
