Although Knoxville is a fairly small city, I never run out of great places to take pictures. I have visited this little cluster of apartments a few times in the past. I admit that it feels a bit odd rolling up to someone's doorstep and taking a picture; but that's probably a more common occurrence in larger cities.
These pictures were taken by my lovely cousin Emily. While she was in school for the fall semester at UT, we made a habit of getting lunch or brunch and walking around a bit. This was a pretty chilly Sunday morning before the massive heatwave struck. After mimosas and truffle fries at Cafe 4, we popped into Rala and Coldstream Market. I'm only a bike ride away from downtown now, but mornings like this definitely show me the perks of true downtown living.
Emily got her adorable cardigan at the new giant Kroger Marketplace in our hometown and her boots at Target (these are similar).
I am so glad that I have amazing relatives like Emily in my family. We are so similar it's uncanny. In fact, we almost share a birthday since hers is only one day after mine, a few years later. Getting to know siblings and family members as real, actual, grown-up (or in the process of) people is one of the greatest treasures of getting older.
